Extension & Refurb for Kingston Hospital

December 15, 2022

Admissions On the Day for Kingston HospitalBarton Knight Contracting recently completed a six-month programme of works for Kingston Hospital NHS Trust, completed on time and to budget.

As the nominated subcontractor to Storm Building Ltd, the specialist electrical work Barton Knight completed had a value of £250,000, out of a total £1.3 million for the overall refurbishment and extension project in Kingston upon Thames.

A new extension to Esher Wing on 2nd floor plus a refurb of existing ward comprised a new Admissions on the Day unit for planned surgeries.

Barton Knight supplied and installed the cabling according to a design by services consultant Bianco Sale, also subcontracted to Storm Building Ltd.

Key works also included lighting, small power sockets on walls, distribution services, nurse call, and IT/network cabling. An extension to the fire alarm system was also included as well as provision of supplies to mechanical services, CCTV and security. For further details read the case study here.

Barton Knight Contracting was able to complete the critical electrical works safely and effectively in a live hospital environment, despite additional complications from the coronavirus pandemic.
